An outdoor garden wedding at the Merion was very much a perfect day for our couple Gessie and Hubens! We had so much fun during their engagement session in Philadelphia recently. It was so great learning about this amazing couple as we documented their special day.
I noticed as we started, a lot of their friends and family spoke French. Well, all I had in my arsenal was “Merci beaucoup” which means “thank you very much.”
Maybe it was time to expand that French vocabulary. So while meeting everyone in their family, I have learned a new word in French, “Sourire”, which means “smile”. I don’t really ask for that word when I’m photographing people in general but getting them be surprised that I said something in French actually made them smile genuinely! It worked, especially when we were at the reception part at the Merion! Now, on to the photos!

Groom prep was just next door so it really helped with our day. And we achieved it without them seeing each other.

Afterwards we headed to the Merion in Cinnaminson, NJ for their ceremony and reception.
